What stays on your iPhone and what is shared

Privacy notice

Most CyberHUD settings and applet data stay on your iPhone. When you use a feature that needs Apple, Google Maps, an RSS publisher, or a model provider, CyberHUD connects to that service for the action you requested.

1. What this notice covers

This notice covers the CyberHUD iPhone app and cyberhud.net. Services you choose through CyberHUD, such as Apple, Google Maps, model providers, and RSS publishers, also have their own privacy terms.

CyberHUD is operated by its individual developer, Haochuan Zhang. For privacy questions or requests, use support@cyberhud.net.

2. Website data

This website does not use forms, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote scripts, or CyberHUD cookies. It self-hosts React and ReactDOM only to hydrate the same pre-rendered pages and provide local presentation behaviour.

Google App Engine hosts this website in its London region. It records standard request data, including your IP address, requested page, time, browser information, response status, performance, and request identifiers. These logs are kept for 30 days and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

3. Data kept on your device

Depending on the features you use, CyberHUD stores these categories locally:

  • Your CyberHUD appearance, layout, control, applet, and optional 3D side-by-side preferences.
  • Your RSS subscriptions, categories, saved article details, read state, and favourites.
  • Applet settings and progress, including Checklist items, Profile details, Weather preferences, and game records.
  • Your Custom Applet names and source, Netics conversation, revision history, and optional saved-source library.
  • Private 3D models you import and Profile photos you select.
  • Model-provider keys you save. These are kept in the iPhone Keychain and are not added to prompts, applet source, conversation history, or ordinary settings.

4. Permissions and feature data flows

Location, Map, and Weather

Map uses iPhone location permission and Google Maps to show and follow your position until you pan away. Weather requests one approximate location reading when you refresh, may ask Apple for a locality name, rounds the coordinate, and sends the rounded location to Apple Weather for the forecast. CyberHUD does not run a location or weather server and does not keep a GPS or route history by default.

Google Maps may process a linked device identifier and other linked data for analytics and app functions, plus crash, performance, and interaction data that is not linked to you. Its current Apple privacy information says it does not use this data for tracking.

Google Maps requests can include your IP address, app information, authentication data, an anonymous identifier, and response status. Google does not publish a fixed retention period for these logs. Apple processes location-name and forecast requests under its own privacy terms. CyberHUD shows the required Google Maps and Apple Weather attribution.

Calendar

Agenda asks for calendar permission and reads upcoming events for display in CyberHUD. CyberHUD has no server that receives your calendar. Your iPhone may still synchronise calendars with the account providers you configured in iOS.

Apple Music

After permission, the Apple Music applet reads and controls the Music app's current queue and shows its artwork and track details. CyberHUD does not record the audio, create a separate music queue, or use Music data for advertising or identification.

Camera and Photos

Camera uses the iPhone camera only while its viewfinder is active. When you take a photo, it saves to a CyberHUD album in Photos. CyberHUD does not record video or upload camera frames or captures. Delete saved photos through the Photos app.

Motion tilt

A supported active applet can use iPhone tilt while it is in the foreground. CyberHUD reduces the raw motion into limited tilt values; it does not keep or upload the raw samples.

Dictation

Architect starts dictation only after you tap its control. The audio is processed on your iPhone and is not stored or uploaded by CyberHUD. Dictation creates editable text; a model provider is contacted only after a separate Generate action.

Countdown alerts

Clock can ask for notification permission and schedule one local alert when a countdown ends. The alert contains fixed CyberHUD text, not text you entered. CyberHUD has no push-notification server and does not upload alert content.

RSS and publisher pages

RSS requests the feed addresses you add and stores feed and article details locally. Opening a live article sends an ordinary web request to its publisher, which may process data under its own policy. Reader Mode converts the page already loaded on your iPhone into a cleaner temporary view.

Applet internet connections

Applets connect only to the services needed for their stated features. Galaxy uses NASA/JPL data. These requests use a temporary session without applet-provided cookies or credentials.

5. Netics and model providers

Netics can help create a tool in one of four Custom Applet slots. You choose where generation runs. Where available, an Apple on-device option uses the system model without a provider key. Cloud choices can include OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or an OpenAI-compatible service you configure.

After you choose Generate, CyberHUD can send the selected provider your request, relevant Custom Applet code, a local summary, recent conversation, and the rules for the requested result. A provider may also receive this content to estimate request size before generation. Your provider key is used for authentication and is not added to your request or conversation.

Each cloud provider processes generation requests under the account and service you choose. Retention, training, human review, processing locations, and deletion options can vary by provider, account, and settings. CyberHUD cannot infer those controls from an API credential and does not promise a specific remote practice.

CyberHUD does not provide a shared provider credential, receive your credential, or proxy provider requests. Your credential stays in this device's Keychain and is sent directly to the selected provider only to authenticate an explicit Generate request. You control the provider account and remain responsible for its eligibility, terms, quota, and charges. Provider API credentials are separate from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini consumer subscription sign-ins.

CyberHUD may check this website for supported model information and price estimates. That check does not include your request, applet code, conversation, or provider key, but it creates the ordinary 30-day website log described above.

6. Purchases, advertising, accounts, and analytics

A planned one-time CyberHUD Pro purchase would unlock optional 3D side-by-side output. Apple would handle the purchase account and payment details; CyberHUD would not receive your full payment-card number.

The current plan is ad-free. CyberHUD does not use cross-app tracking or plan to ask for Apple's tracking permission.

CyberHUD does not offer account registration, product analytics, crash reporting, or in-app support chat. The Google Maps data described above still applies.

7. Your controls

System permissions
Use CyberHUD and iOS Settings to allow or deny location, calendar, Music, camera, Photos, microphone, motion, and notification access.
Netics credentials and history
Disconnect a provider to remove its saved key. Delete a Custom Applet conversation, reset a slot, or separately remove items from your saved-source library.
RSS and applet data
Remove RSS feeds and categories, clear imported applet files, and use an applet's available reset or delete controls. Resetting one Custom Applet does not delete code saved in your library or your provider settings.
Photos
Delete Camera captures from the CyberHUD album in Photos. Clearing app data does not delete images already saved to your Photos library.
Support email
Email you send is handled by your email provider and CyberHUD's mailbox provider. Include only the information needed to answer your request.

8. Contact and changes

For a privacy question or request, email support@cyberhud.net. Do not send API keys, model-provider credentials, private Custom Applet source, calendar details, precise location, or other unnecessary sensitive content.

This notice is effective from 17 August 2026 and will be updated when CyberHUD's app, website, service providers, or data flows change.
